I just had to add these lines to the "Files" section of xorg.conf: ModulePath "/usr/lib/xorg/modules/extensions/nvidia" ModulePath "/usr/lib/xorg/modules/drivers" ModulePath "/usr/lib/xorg/modules" I've also added Option "AddARGBGLXVisuals" "True" to the "Screen" section. I'm not sure if that is really needed, but it seems to work with no glitches so far, so I kept it. On my Ubuntu machine that option helps stabilize compiz a lot, but that machine runs 64bit distribution and has older video card. I’ve found the way to enable desktop effects on Fedora 10.
